Everything you ever wanted to know about offer crediting.

Hey Gangsters,
The number one question that I find myself answering over and over again is "why aren't my offers crediting?" About 50% of all questions regarding this service are related to offer crediting in some way, shape, or form. Therefore, I've decided to post this thread in order to consolidate everything you need to know about crediting into one post. I will update this post as necessary to reflect new questions or issues that may arise.
For this reason:
If you have a question about offer crediting, please read this topic in full. If it is not answered here, send me an e-mail at
admin@gangstergreed.com
and I will be sure to answer you and if necessary, add it to this thread.
Please note that any other threads about offer crediting will be deleted without notice. I plan to consolidate every available bit of information on offer crediting into this thread. Below, you will find an FAQ about offer crediting:
"Some of my offers aren't approving, why?"
First and foremost, it can take up to 1 week for the advertiser to notify us of completion. Most complaints about offer crediting come from people who joined the site within less than 3 days, and therefore they couldn't possibly have waited a full week. If you have completed an offer, and it has not credited within 1 full week, you may retry it by clicking on "Pending offers" and locating the link for the offer you want to retry. A lot of times, the second or third try will do the trick.
Now this next part is important and a lot of people seem to be confused about it, so I'm going to put it in big red bold text:
Credit for an offer is given by the advertiser, not by GangsterGreed.com.
Unfortunately, we cannot credit your account without notification from the advertiser. We don't get paid unless the advertiser gives us credit, and we can't pay you if we don't get paid. We credit your account as we receive credit from the advertisers.
Here's something important that you all should know up front:
Not all of the offers you complete will credit.
Plain and simple, there are MANY reasons that an offer might not credit. Here are just a few:
1. You didn't complete the offer through our link. You have to click on the link from the offers page and complete the offer from there.
2. The advertiser already has your information. This could be because you already completed another offer from the same company, or because another company has sold the information to this company. Often times using an alternate e-mail address will solve this problem.
3. There is an issue with your cookies. First off, cookies NEED to be enabled. You won't get much success at all, as the link you enter the offer on is more often than not, held in a cookie. DO NOT clear cookies WHILE doing an offer, as this will clear the affiliate link and prevent you from getting credit. DO clear cookies often IN BETWEEN doing offers, especially if you are doing several which appear to be from the same company. Often, if you still have a cookie from one offer, it will prevent you from completing another offer from the same advertiser.
4. You didn't use real information. In addition to resulting in VERY low approval rates, using false information is completely against the rules of this site. These advertisers aren't paying you for garbage information, they are paying you for valid contact information. These advertisers want that information so bad that they are willing to allow us to pay you for it. This is what makes this site possible, and if you're not going to give real information, we don't want you here. Also, please know that in the case of social security numbers, giving false information may even be illegal. I know that if you give an auto loan offer someone else's SSN and they run a credit check it can hurt that person's credit score. I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to label that as identity theft. I'm honestly not sure if that is illegal but I know that if the authorities contact me about it, I'm not going to have any reservations about giving them every bit of information I have on you, so please be sure to use real information ESPECIALLY in the case of social security numbers.
5. You already completed the same offer on another site. Just in case you were wondering, this is not allowed.
6. You didn't "qualify" for the offer. Some advertisers have certain criteria that they look for. For example, many require you to be at least 18 years old, a debt consolidation offer will usually want you to have a certain amount of debt, and a mortgage refinance offer will probably want you to own a home, an auto insurance offer will want you to be old enough to drive etc.
7. You didn't complete the offer correctly.
What can I do to make sure I get the highest possible approval rate?
Approval rates can vary greatly between users. Some of the best users have approval rates as high as 75%, and some are as low as about 33%. To obtain the highest approval rate, be sure and do the following:
1. Use real information. I can't stress this enough. Not only will false information hurt your approval rates, it will also likely result in your account being closed if we get complaints about garbage information from the advertisers.
2. Use the link on the "earn cash" page and make SURE that cookies are enabled. Don't clear them while completing an offer. DO clear them often in between offers.
3. Don't complete the same offer on multiple sites. Advertisers only want to pay for your information once. I don't see how they could benefit in any way from you submitting it twice.
4. Always follow the instructions completely to be sure that you do everything required to receive credit.
In addition, please keep in mind the following:
I recently read an article that said that as much as 25% of affiliate marketing commissions are "lost" either due to poor tracking on the part of the advertiser or advertising network, or as a result of spyware. While this is an issue regardless of what site you're completing offers on, I've done some research on this and have come up with 2 steps that you can take to minimize this:
First off, when you hit the confirmation page, or the last page of the offer that gives you credit, there is almost always a "pixel" embedded in that page that informs the advertising network that you have completed the offer, so that they can credit us. This pixel is basically another webpage that is embedded in the confirmation page. It's very important that this pixel has ample time to load. Therefore, many users have reported that they receive higher approval rates by staying on the confirmation page for some time after completing the offer. A lot of people recommend staying on the confirmation page for at least 3 minutes. I can't remember the last time a page took 3 minutes to load, but please keep this in mind when completing your offers.
Secondly, there are unfortunately people who make a type of spyware that will run on your machine and may "overwrite" your cookies or affiliate links so that they get credit for the offer instead of GangsterGreed. On this site, we do use a redirection script which should mitigate this. I know that many site owners have reported a higher conversion rate after implementing a redirection script, so I believe that we are preventing at least SOME of this activity. Honestly, it's impossible for me to tell whether or not this is happening. Please know that I have in the past, and will in the future make use of every remedy known to man to keep this from happening. But to keep this from happening to you, it's a good idea to routinely scan your computer for spyware and viruses. (It's actually a good idea to do so anyway.)
I didn't get credited for this offer but they sent me an e-mail, is there anything you can do?
The answer to this question is "No, and yes."
No
, I cannot contact the advertising network and ask them to look into it and issue credit. I did try this. They informed me that they would process approval requests ONLY for trial offers where you used a credit card, or for offers which you paid money to complete. Currently GangsterGreed.com doesn't carry trial or credit card offers. We plan on adding them in the future, and we will be more than happy to request manual credit on those offers. However, the affiliate companies are NOT willing to request manual credit for a "freebie" offer.
Yes
, I can take note of the fact that it happened. I'm sorry that it happened. I wish it wouldn't happen. I WANT your offers to credit, because when they don't, I don't get paid either. I have in the past removed offers from the site that displayed abnormally low approval rates, and I will continue to do so in the future. I do monitor the approval rates adjust the offer list accordingly.
I filled out a survey offer but at the end it wants me to use a credit card...
In order to receive credit, you only have to do what it states in the instructions. If it says "enter your e-mail address" all you need to do is enter your e-mail address. If it says complete the survey, you only have to complete the survey. You are not required to complete the credit card offers at the end to receive credit.
What does "enter e-mail address with intent to participate" mean?
It means in order to receive credit for the offer, you'll need to submit your e-mail address, and check the box indicating that you agree to the advertisers terms and conditions, that you qualify for the offer, and that you are interested in receiving the free gift for that particular offer.
Hopefully this thread will give you all a better understanding of offer crediting. If you have any additional questions that are not answered here, please e-mail me at
admin@gangstergreed.com
and I will get back to you ASAP, and if necessary I will update this thread with the answer to your question.
Thanks for reading and as always, Happy earnings!
